While on maternity leave, I was searching for a French-themed class to take my son to, but there was nothing in my local area. And as he grew older he was captured by storytelling and with French as my mother tongue, I decided to create something myself – hence Club Petit Pois was born!

The class invites young children to join a very special club. We have lovingly created and curated Petit Pois songs, stories and props. Each session is performed through storytelling with loads of fun and interactive elements that bring children into the story. By the end of each session everyone will have sung, played, danced, laughed – and picked up lots of useful French words along the way.​

 

I chose the name ‘Petit Pois’ as it is a term widely used in both English and French. This perfectly sums up how the class acts as a bridge between English and French by exposing little ones to a new language at the earliest opportunity.
